Ice Princess is a little princess that is about 1 foot shorter than Finn. She lives in the icy caves of the Ice Kingdom. She doesn't stay in one spot for too long, so she sometimes switches caves every 5 months. She is sometimes found hanging around and feeding the penguins, them being her only company. She has one little penguin that is always by her side named Pete. She has heard of the heroes Finn and Jake, but has never met them. She is not related to the Ice King in any way. Her powers are similar to his, but aren't as powerful. Before she was turned into the Ice Princess, her name was Marina Amsel.

Marina went on a mining expedition for precious stones in the mountains with her friends, Sally and Jessie. She had made a tiara with her brother, and was looking for the right "magical" gemstone to fit in the strange indentation in the middle Her tiara is made from precisely welded fragments of golden metals welded together. It was found protruding out of the snow in the cave of a land shrouded in urban legend, the Bewitched Ice Lands. While her friends left her to look for more, she shaped the small piece into a triangular prism so it would signify the 3 of them. Unfortunately, a horrific accident in an avalanche froze and killed her friends, sparing her because she embedded the gem in the tiara and wore it; her reaction to the avalanche was delayed, since she couldn't see her friends ahead of her in the snowstorm that was brewing. To this day, she she was convinced by her other conscience that her friends' deaths were all her fault. She saw that the penguins had each other, and wanted someone to share her loneliness with. She carries a Scientific Parasite around with her whenever she wears clothing with pockets.
